Nursing, hospital and home help for Officers' families - for life
Our story - The Boyd Family
Just over 2 years ago my wife (Fiona) was diagnosed with breast cancer; unfortunately in Jun 2014 we received further terrible news when we found out that Fiona's cancer had returned. This was a crushing blow but we were determined to regroup and fight back. This fight back involved 3 serious operations; 7 months of chemotherapy and 3 weeks of radiotherapy, all over the past 12 months.
Suffice to say it has been a difficult period, and having already battled cancer for some 12 months are resources were thinly stretched.
This is where the Lady Grover's Fund stepped in and provided some much needed domestic assistance that has allowed Fiona to focus on recovery, me to go to work confident that the kids are being woken in the morning and taken to school by the care provided by the Lady Grover's Fund.
Our goal is to return to normality and get our life back on track and ultimately Fiona is keen to return to work. We are making significant steps towards achieving this goal and are ever thankful for the support Lady Grover's Fund has given us.
I'd like to finish by saying thank you to Col0nel Mike Vickery, the Secretary, who has provided so much support and advice during this difficult period, you have been quite simply amazing!
